Notes for performing installation of a Server build (InfoRouter)

The Jenkins build server will deliver Server builds at a location allowing for immediate use
in our LAB setup. For the production DataCenters builds are not available unless requested.
For both LAB and production the installation of a specific build is managed by a script
LB_install which has to be run from the relevant mgt-server in a given DataCenter.

If LB_install is run with no parameters it will list the required parameters and provide
a list of available server groups and builds.

The general parameters are:

• LB_install <server-cluster> {rolling|full|full-terracotta} Server_version
  • rolling: Perform shutdown/install/restart on one AppServer at a time.
  • full: Shutdown all AppServers, install on all AppServers, start AppServers in order of
    cell master server, then cell slave servers.
  • full-terracotta: Combine 'full' installation with a restart of Terracotta processes
    prior to AppServer restart.

LB_install will refuse to install:

• if the requested <server-cluster> is subject to a install policy (only certain builds are allowed).
• if the HazelCast servers for the requested <server-cluster> is running the wrong memgrid version
  compared to the requested 'Server_version'.

LB_install will request that the local Nagios alert server place the involved AppServers in 15 minutes
of scheduled downtime to avoid accidental Nagios alerts during the shutdown/install/restart process
for the AppServers.

LAB systems

For lab systems: log in on mgt-dtu.soonr.com with your personalized Soonr account, then use LB_install.

Production systems

You must log in on the relevant DataCenter mgt-server with your personalized Soonr account:

• Australia (MP) : mgt-mp.soonr.com
• Canada: mgt-ca.soonr.com
• Denmark/EU: mgt-dk.soonr.com
• US/San Jose: mgt-sj.soonr.com

Run LB_install to see if the server build you need to install is already available in the DataCenter,
if not, the procedure (at the moment) is:

• Login on mgt-trust.soonr.com using standard credentials
  
• Use the command "sudo /usr/local/bin/stage_build_for_production.perl 'Server_version'".
  This will trigger a replication of 'Server_version' to all production DataCenters -
  could take up 15 min. to complete.
